Description

Iberescena aims to promote the creation of an integrated space for performing arts in its Member States, through funding and financial support. Among its objectives are the following:

  • Promote the activities of the performing arts with innovative languages and new expressions that able to dialogue with the contemporary scene.
  • Encourage the distribution, circulation, and promotion of Ibero-American shows.
  • Stimulate co-production in performances among Ibero-American public and/or private sectors, as well as promote such presences in international perfoming arts spaces.
  • Promote the dissemination of the work of Ibero-American authors.
  • Support Ibero-American scenic spaces and festivals, in order to encourage the prioritization in their programming of regional productions. 
  • Favor professionalization in the areas of theater, dance, and circus arts.
  • Advance efforts in collaboration and synergies with other programs, as well as instances related to performing arts.
  • Promote the creation of projects which include the following the following themes: gender perspectives, native peoples, persons of African descent, as well as those topics which favor social cohesion and inclusion.

The period 2017 - 2018 the activity will be focused in:

  • Financial aid to networks, festivals and performance spaces for the programming of shows.
  • Financial aid to co-productions of Ibero-American shows in the performing arts.
  • Financial aid to Latin American performing art centres in specialized residence
